The Friends of the Peter White Public Library and the American Association of University Women have joined together to present the first annual Front Street Book Fair. The event will be held for three days, September 23, 24 and 25 at venues in the City of Marquette.
Thousands of clean used books, CD’s and DVD’s will be available for purchase at bargain prices at the First Presbyterian Church, 120 N. Front Street, and at Peter White Public Library, 217 N. Front Street. Proceeds from the sales will support PWPL’s programs, materials and equipment and AAUW’s mission of advancing gender equity for women and girls.
Throughout the fair there will be community events at Peter White Public Library, Marquette Federation of Women’s Clubhouse, 104 W. Ridge Street, and Snowbound Bookstore, 118 N. 3rd Street. The events will include a live concert by local singer/songwriter Michael Waite at PWPL, a presentation by Marquette author Tyler Tichelaar, an appraisal of rare books at PWPL, and author signings at Snowbound Bookstore. There will also be food and drink specials at nearby restaurants, including the Landmark Inn, 230 N. Front Street.
Face masks may be required at certain venues so please be prepared. All Michigan Covid-19 guidelines will be followed to keep our community safe. For more information call PWPL at 906-228-9510 or visit www.pwpl.info.
