COMPUTERS & WIFI
WiFi is freely available throughout the building, in the parking library parking lot, and on the front lawn. Expect to see a page that will require you to click "accept" after you review and agree to our policies. If you need assistance, feel free to call the reference librarian at 906-226-4311.
Public Access Computers
The Peter White Public Library has computers available for public use. Printing, faxing, and scanning are also available.
Computers may be used for up to two hours a day.
The Library uses CybraryN time management and print management software. This allows users to sign themselves into a computer using a library card number and PIN, and to print documents.
Cost of Use
There is no charge to use the computers.
For your convenience, the library sells thumb drives, blank DVDs, and headphones at the reference desk for use on the computers.
Limited Library Assistance
Computer users are asked to carefully read provided directions and manuals. Library assistance will generally be limited to helping new users get started and assisting with printer problems. Staff do not have complete knowledge of all the programs beyond getting started and other basic information.
A PWPL library card barcode plus a PIN is required to gain entry onto an Internet-accessible computer. PINs are computer-assigned numbers when a patron receives a new card but may be changed by the individual patron. Guest passes are available at the service desks.
