Peter White Public Library is hosting our first winter reading program: Flamingos in the Snow! Winter Reading 2021. The event will kick off on Monday, February 8th, and will wrap up on April 30th. Kids under 14 are encouraged to participate and will be split into two reading groups: Reading Sparks (0-7) and Reading Flames (8-14). Peter White Public Library’s goal is to help children develop their love for reading and increase reading skills during these pandemic winter months. The program will help children expand their reading skills while participating in fun activities.

Upon registering, children will receive a lawn flamingo, reading log, and Mystery Egg. Once they complete their reading log, the children will receive a second flamingo. Those who wish may enter the Flamboyance Challenge for the chance to win a flamboyance of flamingos! There will be additional Mystery Eggs for the kids to take home each month and complete with their flamingos’ Registration, which begins February 8th, inside Peter White Public Library, 12 pm-6 pm. After the kickoff, registration will available inside Peter White during normal library hours until February 27th.

Registration will also be available online at pwpl.info on our Youth Services page. If you are not coming into the library building, register online and follow directions after registering to pick up your flamingo. Peter White Public Library looks forward to seeing the lawns of Marquette lit up with a love for reading and colorful flamingos!
