What Is Prime Time Preschool?
Prime Time Preschool is a special 6-week program of reading, discussion, and storytelling for parents and their children ages 3-5. This humanities based program teaches many simple strategies to help family and friends not only boost children’s reading and pre-literacy skills but encourage a greater interest in reading. PRIME TIME Preschool families will learn how to talk about books in ways that can increase classroom success. The program is free, and transportation assistance, such as cab fare and bus passes, is available.
Programs are presented by a preschool facilitator who uses award-winning children’s books to
- Encourages parents and children to read and talk about books as a family activity;
- Identify and discuss the ideas and values in children’s books;
- Teach parents and children how to choose books and use library resources.
A healthy dinner will be provided before the program.
Families who wish to participate must be pre-registered. Call Amanda Pierce at 906/226-4321 for more information.
