PRIMETIME FAMILY READING
Due to COVID-19, we regret that we will not be able to run Prime Time this year.
What Is Prime Time?
Prime Time is a special 6-week program of reading, discussion, and storytelling for parents and their children ages 6-10. Preschool activities will be available for siblings ages 3 - 5 during the program. The program teaches many simple strategies to help family and friends not only boost children's reading skills but encourage a greater interest in reading. PRIME TIME families will learn how to talk about books in ways that can increase classroom success. The program is free, and transportation assistance, such as cab fare and bus passes, is available.
Programs are presented by a discussion leader and a storyteller who use award-winning children's books to
- Encourages parents and children to read and talk about books as a family activity;
- Identify and discuss the ideas and values in children's books;
- Teach parents and children how to choose books and use library resources.
A healthy lunch will be provided during the program.
Families who wish to participate must be pre-registered. Call Sarah Rehborg at 906/226-4323 for more information. Online Registration available below.
