Audience members (21 and over) are greatly encouraged to come out to the third annual Peter White Public Library Adult Sip and Spell: A Spelling Bee for Cheaters this Friday night, February 7, 2020 in the UP Masonic Center Red Room. A $5.00 cover charge can be paid at the door and audience members can purchase cheats and “bet” on their favorite spellers.

A cash bar featuring Blackrocks Brewery beer, wine and soft drinks will be available.

This isn’t your average spelling bee–this is a CHEATER’S spelling bee!  Contestants can purchase cheats to advance their game.  Cheat prices start at $10.00 each with cheats like skip a word, buy your way back in the competition, advance directly to final round (while wearing a bee suit for the duration of the event),  and 30 seconds with a dictionary.

Team Sign-in opens at 5:30 pm the Bee starts at 7:00 pm sharp!

In the first rounds, teams will spell together until six teams remain. Those teams will move on to the final rounds where contestants will compete as individuals.

A winner will eventually emerge and a team will also be crowned with an award for team spirit.  Costumes are encouraged!
