In April, John Hubbard presents North Country Images. With more than five decades of residence in the Upper Peninsula, Hubbard draws inspiration from his extensive experience in outdoor pursuits such as kayaking, fishing, and camping. In this collection of oil paintings, Hubbard delves into the interplay of light in our daily existence. Using photos captured in diverse lighting conditions, he explores the dynamic relationship between seasonal changes, environmental factors, and the distinctive landscapes and wildlife of the region.

In May, area High School student artwork will be on display in the Deo Gallery. Come in and see an exhibit featuring the very talented young people living in our community.

Feeling It Out is a curated exhibition of cardboard sculptural works by MARESA students who participated in the Michigan Arts Access Artist in Residence Program. MiAA is a statewide organization partnering special educating students with visiting artists in the fields of dance, music, and the visual arts. This exhibition was an opportunity for students to work with local artist Amber Dohrenwend and use cardboard to make a variety of objects: from spirit animals, to masks, to sculptural texts as well as larger works as they explored the power of expressing emotion in 3D.
