Summer Reading Starts Today!

The time has finally arrived. Summer Reading ” Color Our World” Programs is taking over PWPL!

Each department is celebrating in its own way. 

YOUTH SERVICES

Join us as we kickoff Summer Reading 2025: Color Our World with our favorite comedian and magician Cameron Zvara!

Show time is 10:00 a.m. -10:45 a.m. in the Community Room & is free of charge.

Drop-in mask making and scratch art mandalas after the show in the Great Room and Maker Space.

Registration for Summer Reading will open online at 9:30 am. 

  • Register your kids online
  • Stop by the library to pickup your kid(s) reading log
  • This summer – kids 0-14 will read to earn up to 3 free books at the 3 bookfairs throughout the summer
  • Miss kickoff? No problem – register online, track reading at home and stop by for your reading log as soon as you are able!

TEEN SERVICES

Drop-in activities in the Teen Zone all day on Saturday!

Registration for Teens Read! Summer Reading will open online at 9:30 a.m. 

  • Register online
  • Stop by the Teen Zone to pick up your reading log
  • This summer Teens will read to earn up to $20 in gift cards from local businesses
  • Open to all students entering grades 6-12
  •  If you miss kick-off, register online, track your reading at home and stop by the Teen Zone for your reading log when you are able to.

All students entering 6-12 grade are welcomed to register for Teens Read!  Students entering 6th grade – age 14 must choose either Kids Read! or Teens Read!

ADULT SERVICES

Summer Reading programs aren’t just for kids—adults are invited to join the fun and revisit the joys of reading!

Participating is easy:

  1. Simply select a book.
  2. Pick up a “Color Our World” Summer Reading Bookmark from the 2nd floor of PWPL.
  3. Start reading.
  4. Once you’ve finished your book, complete the bookmark and drop it in the designated box at the Reference Desk. You can participate up to 10 times throughout the summer! At the end of the season, several lucky participants will be selected to win exciting prizes.

This year, we’re thrilled to introduce “Art Escapes” programming! Join us for a series of special art events happening all summer long.

Space is limited.
