RFP: Lower stairs 2024

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL – PROJECT SCOPE
Peter White Public Library (PWPL) invites proposals for the removal and replacement of the limestone blocks which make up the lower stairs leading to the Front Street entrance to the Library.
This RFP includes the removal and replacement of limestone blocks which comprise the lower set of stairs with an eye to historic integrity and long-term durability. The highest grade of limestone block must be utilized in this project.
Masonry walls installed in 2009 that abut each end of the stairs are to be retained as is.
The two sets of handrails up the middle of the stairs should be removed and installed to prevent water infiltration at connecting points.
Work must be completed before November 2024.
PROJECT TIMELINE
RFP Window: March 1 – March 15, 2024.
Deadline for Submission: March 15, 2024, 5:00 pm.
Project awarded: March 19, 2024 at PWPL Board of Trustees Meeting
Desired Construction Window: April – November 2024
