The Friends of Peter White Public Library present

“An Evening with Michigan Author Bonnie Jo Campbell.”

Monday, July 22 at 6:00 p.m. in the PWPL Community Room.

Dinner will be catered by Vango’s and followed by a reading from Bonnie Jo’s newest novel, The Waters. Tickets are $25.00 and go on sale June 1 ONLY at PWPL’s Circulation Desk. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. with dinner served at 6:00 p.m. Bonnie Jo’s books will be available for purchase at the event through Snowbound Books. A Silent Auction will also take place.

Bonnie Jo Campbell is a nationally acclaimed author of six works of fiction including American Salvage, which was a finalist for both the National Book Critics Award and the National Book Award. Women and Other Animals won the AWP Prize for Short Fiction. Her other books include Mothers, Tell Your Daughters, Q Road, Once Upon a River, which was adapted for film and released in 2020, and her latest novel released in January, The Waters.

Bonnie Jo, who lives outside Kalamazoo with her donkeys, is one of the major writers depicting rural life in America. Her short stories and novels vividly describe the struggle to make a living in rural areas, family relationships, both caring and dangerous, and the harsh, yet resilient environment.
