FIRST CHAPTER FRIDAYS
Follow the YouTube link below for a weekly "first chapter" of Teen books read by Teen Services Specialist Amanda Pierce.
The Teen Zone, renovated in the fall of 2016, resides on the main level of the library. It houses the Young Adult collections: books, paperbacks, audio books, magazines and graphic novels. Teens can access wifi or use one of two teens-only computer stations. Teen Programming Coordinator, Amanda Pierce, is often on-hand to answer questions and help teens find materials.
JTAB (Junior Teen Advisory Board): open to anyone entering grades 5-8. Help plan special events for people your age. Monthly meetings feature games, book talk, and opportunities to meet new friends.
TAB (Teen Advisory Board): open to anyone entering grades 9-12 who is interested in meeting with peers to create library programs teens would enjoy. Meetings are held monthly and usually involve a snack and something hands on that's fun to do. Past TAB events have included battle of the bands, dances and other creative, fun activities.
Inspired Words: Showcase for unplugged original poetry, prose and music, held quarterly.
